Representaciones en contexto. Características del paisaje rupestre de Cerro Colorado (Sierras del Norte, Córdoba, Argentina)

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es caracterizar el arte rupestre de la localidad de Cerro Colorado sobre la base de la definición de sus particularidades formales y de su articulación con otras prácticas sociales. En este sentido, se conjugan los resultados de las investigaciones llevadas adelante por nuestro equipo desde finales de 2012 con la información edita sobre la localidad. La comparación de los elementos del repertorio iconográfico, su emplazamiento, las actividades asociadas a la observación y ejecución del arte y las características de la ocupación del área circundante permiten comenzar a indagar sobre el papel de esta materialidad para las comunidades prehispánicas. Paralelamente, autoriza a fijar semejanzas y diferencias con las modalidades rupestres identificadas en la región central de las Sierras Grandes. Toda esta información proporciona los elementos para definir a Cerro Colorado como un paisaje rupestre particular donde las representaciones gravitan en todas las prácticas sociales que intervienen en la reproducción de los grupos.

The aim of this paper is to characterize the rock art of the archeological locality of Cerro Colorado. We propose the definition of its formal characteristics and its relationship with other social practices. In this sense, the results of our investigation project are combined with the published information on the Cerro Colorado. The comparison of the iconographic repertoire, its location, the activities related to its observation and execution, and the nature of the occupation of the surrounding area allow to begin to investigate the role of this materiality for pre-Hispanic communities. At the same time us to begin, authorizes to pay attention to similarities and differences with the central region of the Sierras Grandes. All this information provides the elements to define to Cerro Colorado as a particular rock landscape where representations are gravitating in all social practices involved in the reproduction of groups
