Entre zeppelines y boeings 747: metáforas del vuelo y de la aviación en el habla cotidiana en español bonaerense

Abstract

En la línea de los estudios sobre el empleo de metáforas en el habla cotidiana (Lakoff y Johnson, Hock, Rojas), presentamos en este artículo un relevamiento de las metáforas que tienen su origen en el vuelo y la aviación y que son de uso frecuente entre hablantes de español bonaerense. Dichas metáforas se asocian a estados mentales y emocionales, así como a características físicas. Presentamos el empleo de metáforas entre hablantes de español bonaerense que, a su vez, integran la comunidad aeronáutica y que, en su jerga profesional, apelan a algunas expresiones metafóricas. De esta manera, se corrobora la productividad de este mecanismo de creación léxica (Sanmartín Sáez) también en el habla altamente regulada y estructurada que ejercitan tanto controladores aéreos como pilotos.

Within the framework of previous studies on the use of metaphor in daily speech (Lakoff y Johnson, Hock, Rojas), we present in this article a review of metaphors originated from flight and aviation that are of common use within the bonaerense spanish linguistic community. These metaphors are associated with mental and emotional states, as well as with physical features. We present the use of metaphors among bonaerense spanish speakers that belong, at the same time, to the aeronautical community and who resort to some metaphorical expressions in their professional jargon. Thus, the productivity of this lexical creation mechanism (Sanmartín Sáez) is corroborated also within the highly regulated and structured speech that exercise both air traffic controllers and pilots.
