Profundidad temporal y diversidad de los temas, soportes y contextos de producción identificados en el arte rupestre de la región central de las Sierras Grandes (provincia de Córdoba, Argentina)

Abstract

Este trabajo reúne la información recuperada en la región central de las Sierras de Córdoba (Argentina) referente a distintos sitios con representaciones rupestres. El análisis de la evidencia permite, por un lado, otorgar una mayor profundidad temporal a la práctica de pintar o grabar paneles y, por otro, respaldar la heterogeneidad manifestada en la vida social de los grupos que ocuparon, construyeron y significaron los distintos paisajes serranos. En este sentido nuestro estudio genera nueva información que admite una visión diferente respecto a la propuesta tradicional que otorgaba una identidad homogénea a los grupos prehispánicos que ocuparon la región.

This paper present the information about several rock art sites in the central region of the Sierras de Córdoba (Argentina). The analysis of the evidence allows to give greater antiquity to the practice of painted or engraved motifs. Moreover it shows the heterogeneity in the social life of the groups that occupied, built and meant different landscapes. In this sense, our study supports a different view to the traditional proposal that considered a homogeneous identity for Prehispanic groups in the region.
